About the Wattle Day Association Inc.

The Wattle Day Association Inc. is a not-for-profit, non-political, non-sectarian community-based volunteer organisation incorporated in the Australian Capital Territory. All Committee members are volunteers.
Our website and Facebook page are designed to be national resources for the celebration of National Wattle Day (including resources for schools) and information about wattle as symbol of Australia and Australians.
We welcome all who want to join us to promote the celebration of National Wattle Day for all Australians.
Aims
The aims of the Wattle Day Association are to promote:

- National Wattle Day (1 September) as a celebration of Australia and its people;
- The Golden Wattle (Acacia pycnantha) as our national floral emblem and a unifying symbol for all Australians, and
- Wattle as a symbol of Australia.
Key areas
During the 3 year period 2016 – 2018, the Association advanced these aims by focussing on the following key areas:
a) Actively pursue sources of funding and sponsorship for promotion of the Association’s aims;
b) Build and nurture relationships with key strategic groups and stakeholders;
c) Grow membership and interest networks; and
d) Generate ideas and information and promote events/activities relating to the Golden Wattle as Australia’s national floral emblem and the celebration of National Wattle Day.
